OneZero reports on back pain at the office and how gaming chairs might be able to provide some support for long working hours.
According to Jon Cinkay, PT, coordinator of body mechanics at HSS, “The best sitting configuration is sitting all the way back into the chair, straight, with your feet flat on the floor and your back supported."
"The seat height should also place you in a position that your elbows are bent to 90 degrees to reach the keyboard," he added.
However, it is also important to stand and move around. Cinkay recommends sitting for approximately 30-40 minutes then standing for 10-15 minutes during the day, even if it's just to talk to a coworker, use the restroom or drink more water.
