Will Your Way to Work Out

In an Arthritis Today article, HSS hand therapist Tamara Scharf PT, DPT, provided tips on how to exercise regularly with arthritis.

Scharf suggested turning your exercise into a game and seeing how many days in a row you can be active.

"The most important thing is to keep moving. If people are having a particularly painful day, they may want to do some stretches in a warm shower, as long as you're sure you won't slip. Or see if you can take gravity out of your regular routine. If it involves knee or leg lifts, for instance, lie down on your bed to do them," said Scharf.
