What’s the best thing you can do for your health in the new year?

Newsday asks experts including HSS physiatrist Jesse N. Charnoff, MD, what is the best thing one can do for their health in the new year.

Dr. Charnoff explained, “Cardiovascular exercise has countless benefits. Whether one is taking a brisk walk, riding a stationary bike, swimming, or running the systemic benefits are plentiful. The direct benefits on the cardiovascular system, including blood pressure and heart rate, are well documented. Having a regular exercise program can lead to better weight management, sugar control and be an integral aspect of improving one’s health.”
