Orthopedics Today interviews Heidi Prather, DO, physiatrist at HSS, about her presentation titled “Leadership and mentoring” at the NASS Annual Meeting in Chicago. Dr. Prather discusses the importance of mentors, the molds they can fill in a physician’s career and what her mentors have instilled in her professional growth.

“I hope everyone can find somebody who can champion them for, not just their career, but for their family life and for their aspirations outside of work and how to meld all of that together,” said Dr. Prather. “When you find that special person, maintain that relationship and nurture it. It lasts you a lifetime.”
