Costco Connection reports the shoulder is a complex joint that is highly susceptible to injury and other conditions.

Costco Connection spoke to John D. MacGillivray, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, about the treatment for shoulder bursitis or impingement. “It responds extremely well to a cortisone shot, if detected within the first month of presentation of pain and stiffness of the shoulder,” said Dr. MacGillivray. “Physical therapy and therapeutic stretching exercises also are prescribed,” he added.
