Dr. Kathryn McElheny named Mets head team physician

The New York Mets announces Kathryn D. McElheny, MD, sports medicine physician at HSS, has been promoted to Head Team Physician.

Becoming the first female Head Team Physician in franchise history, Dr. McElheny will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team's medical department and play an integral role in keeping players in peak physical condition. Previously, she served as the Mets’ Non-Operative Medical Director for the past two years.
