COVID-19: OrthoSpine Surgeons SPEAK OUT

Ortho Spine News interviewed a variety of orthopedic surgeons on COVID-19 including Edwin P. Su, MD, hip and knee surgeon at HSS.

Dr. Su explained that HSS has cancelled all non-essential orthopedic surgeries out of an abundance of caution with the goal of ensuring safety for patients and staff.

“It is something that is going to be continually re-evaluated, but the COVID-19 pandemic is certainly going to affect orthopedic care for the next several months, both because of the need to postpone and reschedule operations, but also because its overall impact on the economy. Academic and industry meetings have also been cancelled, so innovations and research in the orthopedic arena may also be delayed,” he added.
