Can this cutting-edge knee surgery help prevent arthritis?
New York Post reporter Hannah Sparks wrote about a new device used during meniscal surgery that could potentially prevent the onset of arthritis. According to the article, the technology makes stitches around the meniscus rather than through it.
Sparks interviewed HSS sports medicine surgeon Riley J. Williams III, MD, who offered his perspective.
"It's way premature to say that [this method is] supplanting or replacing the gold standard," Dr. Williams, who has not used the technology.
