HSS primary sports medicine physician Jordan D. Metzl, MD, discusses how to best exercise during the COVID-19 pandemic, by limiting any high-intensity work to less than one-third of your total exercise time. Dr. Metzl explains there is evidence showing moderate-intensity exercise boosts immune function, and suggests exercising for 30 minutes a day; doing something outdoors (if able); prioritizing time for recovery prior to your next workout; and listening to your body.
