Why do your legs sometimes itch while running and should you be concerned?

TODAY.com discusses the causes for “runner’s itch” and includes prevention and management tips from Jordan D. Metzl, MD, sports medicine physician at HSS.

Dr. Metzl explained the changing of the seasons and temperature can be a factor, and that the itching is usually more common in the colder months, which is notable heading into the fall marathon season.

“Sometimes an anti-inflammatory can help make a difference for some of the more significant cases of this,” he added.
