When Age and Heart Failure Crash the DDD Party

A study from HSS and Showa University identifies age and congestive heart failure as key risk factors in lumbar disc degeneration. Using advanced imaging, researchers found both factors accelerate deterioration of the nucleus pulposus, the gel-like center of intervertebral discs.
