What Causes Inner Thigh Cramps, and How to Prevent Them

Livestrong discusses the causes and prevention of inner thigh cramps with guidance from experts including Naimish Baxi, MD, physiatrist at HSS.

Dr. Baxi explained, “These cramps can hit in the middle of the night or they may occur mid-activity, such as during a jog.”

He noted that sitting or sleeping in a strange position can also lead to leg cramps.

To ease leg cramps, Dr. Baxi said applying warmth (think: a hot bath or a heating pad) can be helpful.
