Dr. Blazer explained, “Essentially, holistic medicine is caring for someone with regard to all of them. So, not just their physical health, their spiritual, emotional, psychosocial health.”

She said in many cases, “minoritized” patients face disparities regarding multiple social determinants, in addition to their health.
