The Right Pillow Could be Your Answer to Better Sleep
My Fitness Pal featured HSS physiatrist Jonathan S. Kirschner, MD, RMSK, in an article about selecting the proper pillow to improve overall quality of sleep.
"Tossing and turning is a normal part of sleep [that's] helpful for the musculoskeletal system, since movement prevents muscles and joints from becoming too stiff," said Dr. Kirschner.
However, he added that constant movement could be a sign of poor sleep quality.
For side sleepers, Dr. Kirschner recommended placing a pillow between the knees to maintain neutral spine alignment.
