                        <title>Fresh osteochondral allografts may yield excellent outcomes for osteochondritis dissecans</title>

Zlotolow, MD, FAOA</p>]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span>A new study led by researchers at HSS has found that fresh osteochondral allograft transplantation can be a reliable treatment for osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the knee.</span></p><p><span>The study, published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine, followed 58 patients who underwent the procedure. At a minimum 2-year follow-up, 93% of patients had successful outcomes, with significant improvements in pain, function, and quality of life.</span></p><p><span>"Our findings suggest that fresh osteochondral allografts can help restore articular cartilage and allow patients to return to their desired level of activity," said lead author </span><a href="https://www.hss.edu/profiles/doctors/dan-zlotolow" target="_blank"><span>Dan A.
