State seeks authorization to use federal Medicaid funds for psychiatric hospital stays

Crain's New York Business reports on an HSS survey presented at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Convergence 2022 that polled community organizations and people in all five boroughs, which found that the risk of falling, access to chronic pain management, and health education are among the top concerns facing medically underserved patients. Respondents also reported that COVID-19, isolation and discrimination in medical settings also prevent them from getting the care they need. The survey’s results will help HSS develop community-based initiatives for moving forward.
