SportTechie reports HSS has entered a strategic partnership with sports innovation company Sports Engineering, Inc. (SEI) for the creation of injury risk-reducing footwear.

HSS has been conducting research and validation studies on the SEI technologies the Smart Spring and Split Sole, and is equipped with a state-of-the-art Motion Analysis Lab, which uses 3D motion capture to assess joint movements and contact loads.

The article notes that HSS foot and ankle surgeon Mark C. Drakos, MD, an assistant team orthopedist for the New York Knicks, is directly involved in the collaboration.
