Working out on an empty stomach does more harm than good. 

As we age, exercise is our ticket to functional health, strong bones and a thriving metabolism, but your workout routine is only one part of it. How you fuel your body is just as important, said Heidi Prather, DO, sports medicine and hip preservation physiatrist at HSS and Founder and Medical Director of the HSS Lifestyle Medicine Program, who views nutrition and movement as “inseparable” in midlife. “They interchange with each other,” she explained in an article in Flow Space. “And we really need to think about addressing them in community.”
