TAPintoNewark reports the USA Football Heart of a Giant award was presented to co-winners Brandt Morgan of Jericho High School and Devian Parker-Rogers of Malcolm X Shabazz High School by Samuel A. Taylor, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS.

The award is presented annually by HSS and the New York Giants, which honors nominees for their commitment, teamwork, will, character and dedication.

Dr. Taylor said, “Those are some things that most people would just succumb to and crumble, and [Devian] did the exact opposite of that. There’s no question that you’re tough on the football field and that you’re tough in your heart despite all of these odds stacked against you.”
