Patient-specific implants developed at Hospital for Special Surgery make debut

Becker’s Spine Review reports the first surgeries were performed with patient-specific implants made at the ProMade Point of Care Center for Complex Orthopedic Solutions at HSS as part of a partnership with devicemaker LimaCorporate. The 3D design and printing facility was opened in March 2021.

Robert L. Buly, MD, hip and knee surgeon at HSS, used one of the patient-specific implants for a hip procedure on January 6.
