New runner from Brooklyn tackling TCS NYC Marathon with help from the Hospital for Special Surgery

WABC featured Anne Broomfield, a patient of HSS primary care sports medicine physician Daphne A. Scott, MD, as part of its coverage of the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon.

Anne visited Dr. Scott after she experienced difficulty walking and running.

According to the article, Dr. Scott determined that Anne had an offset in the bones of her hips. She recommended pelvis and glute strengthening exercises.

Dr. Scott noted that if the pelvis and knees aren't properly supported and aligned in a squat, then they also aren't while running.

Since seeing Dr. Scott, Anne joined two runners clubs and ran in the Chicago Marathon.
