Multimodal Approach for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Reduced Post-op Opioids and Complications

Anesthesiology News featured HSS clinical fellow Crispiana Cozowicz, MD, in an article about her recent study on opioid complications in orthopedic surgery patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

According to the study, multimodal analgesia could significantly decrease postoperative opioid consumption and severe complications.

"This study shows that adding additional modes could increase safety in this patient population," said Dr. Cozowicz.
