Riley J. Williams III, MD, Chief of the Sports Medicine Institute at HSS, performed Kyrie Irving’s ACL reconstruction after the NBA star tore his ACL in March 2025. More than a year later, fellow NBA player Michael Porter Jr. says he was amazed by Irving’s progress during a recent pickup basketball game.

“I couldn’t believe how he was moving out there,” Porter said, praising Irving’s ability to get to the basket and finish plays despite the significant knee injury.
