Mets’ Lugo needs elbow surgery, will miss start of season

AP News reports New York Mets starting pitcher Seth Lugo will undergo elbow surgery to be performed by HSS sports medicine surgeon David W. Altchek, MD, after an MRI revealed a bone spur on his right elbow. Lugo will not throw for six weeks, then will be assessed and transition to a throwing program.
