Largest U.S. indoor pickleball center opens in Connecticut mall: 'There’s nothing like it'

Stamford Advocate reports that the largest indoor pickleball center in the US has opened at Stamford Town Center.

To celebrate the debut, Pickleball America’s founders and a number of community leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the complex's entrance at 140 Atlantic St., adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park. Operating in its first phase with 13 courts on Stamford Town Center's fourth floor, Pickleball America will not only help meet the surging demand for pickleball venues, but it will also fill an anchor pad at the mall that was formerly occupied by a Saks Off 5th department store

Among the local institutions that are supporting Pickleball America is HSS, a founding sponsor of Pickleball America and also the official hospital of Major League Pickleball.

“Some would say that mall shopping is a sport, but pickleball is the real deal,” Karen M. Sutton, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS said at the ribbon-cutting. “It’s an exciting time for the sport and PBA. We can’t wait to play pickleball in this wonderful space and stay healthy together.”
