SELF Magazine reports while research is limited, experts believe certain foods can reduce Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) symptoms.

Red meat is associated with inflammation, so reducing intake and focusing on plant-based alternatives may be helpful. According to HSS weight management specialist Caroline A. Andrew, MD, physicians tend to recommend minimizing how often you eat foods that are highly processed and have a lot of sugar. “These foods promote inflammation in the body because of the way they can drastically affect your blood sugar and release of the hormone insulin,” said Dr. Andrew.
