Is Sleeping On The Floor Actually Good For Your Back?

Women's Health featured HSS physiatrist Jennifer L. Solomon, MD, who addressed if sleeping on the floor is beneficial for relieving back pain.

According to Dr. Solomon, sleeping on the floor is not a viable long-term solution.

"Sometimes people with acute pain find that different positions on a hard surface can ease some of their back pain… everybody is different," Dr. Solomon said.

To relieve pain, Dr. Solomon recommended putting a pillow behind or between the knees to achieve proper spinal alignment.
