Dr. Parks is involved in clinical research, focusing on joint replacement surgery and the effects of race, ethnicity and gender on the care of arthritis patients. While addressing patients’ concerns, he works to understand how factors such as patient health care literacy, social determinants of health, and location can affect care. Dr. Parks is the treasurer of the board of directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has collaborated with Nth Dimensions, which provides mentorship for women and underrepresented minority students interested in orthopedic surgery.
