Interview with Dr. Andrew Weiland concerning Klay Thompson's injury

Fansided interviewed HSS hand and upper extremity surgeon Andrew J. Weiland, MD, who addressed Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson's recent thumb fracture.

Dr. Weiland, who did not treat Thompson, explained that fractures typically take four to five weeks to heal.

Additionally, he noted that immobilizing the thumb with a "hand-based splint" is the best way to treat thumb injuries.

"It should heal up. When it's finally healed, it'll be 100 percent," said Dr. Weiland.
