Ann Bienstock, APN, Manager of HSS Occupational (staff) Health Services, has received the first COVID-19 vaccination in a non-trial setting at HSS, administered by colleague Megan Totaro, FNP. Following emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) is regulating distribution with highest priority being to maintain hospital bed capacity. Subject to phased supply and in the sequence of DOH prioritization criteria, all HSS staff will be offered the vaccine. HSS joins all members of the New York healthcare community in celebrating this historic milestone.
