HSS and New York Road Runners Hold Second Annual Runner Health Symposium
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), the world's leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health and the official hospital of the TCS New York City Marathon, will host the 2nd Annual HSS/NYRR Runner Health and Performance Symposium on October 3 in collaboration with New York Road Runners (NYRR), the nonprofit that “runs” NYC producing 60 annual adult and youth races including the TCS New York City Marathon.
Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, the symposium continues its mission of bringing together runners and the experts who care for them, while expanding its reach through a new digital platform designed to make world-class education accessible to a global audience.
This year, HSS and NYRR have launched a dedicated symposium website that serves as a central hub for registration, speaker information and program details. The platform will also feature a growing digital library of symposium content, allowing runners, coaches, healthcare professionals and researchers around the world to access presentations and educational sessions after the event concludes. Designed to support future symposiums as well as past events, the site will serve as an ongoing resource for the global running community.

It’s an opportunity to connect runners directly with world-class experts and the latest science on injury prevention, performance and lifelong health,” said Jordan D. The virtual symposium, taking place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT, will bring together leading physicians, researchers, performance specialists and coaches to share the latest evidence-based insights in runner health. Sessions will cover a range of topics, from training and recovery to nutrition, sleep and emerging research, providing practical takeaways for runners of all levels.
With attendees expected from around the world, the symposium reflects a shared commitment by HSS and NYRR to make expert-led runner health education more widely accessible.
