How Health Care Providers Can Use Digital Platforms to Engage Consumers and Build Trust

MD Tech Review features an article written by HSS chief medical information officer and rheumatologist, Steven K. Magid, MD, discussing the expanded use of digital platforms (e.g., websites, social media and blogs) by hospitals and health care providers, to build trust and loyalty among audiences.

Dr. Magid emphasizes the importance of website optimization, as this is the consumer’s first exposure to the provider. He notes the HSS website plays a key role in communicating pertinent information and showcasing offered resources, such as the Back in the Game patient forum, Playbook blog and more. He explains good content delivered on social and digital platforms can make an establishment appear less clinical and more assessible, not only to increase visibility, but to acquire valuable information in reference to patient satisfaction. Dr. Magid further adds the use of digital platforms has allowed HSS to reach the hospital’s professional audience through eAcademy, to deliver educational and academic programming through live streaming and offerings on demand.
