Hospital for Special Surgery surgeon receives $50K grant for orthobiologics research

Becker’s Spine Review reports HSS sports medicine surgeon Scott A. Rodeo, MD, received a $50,000 grant from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation to study an injectable knee biologic.

Dr. Rodeo said, “There is great interest in the potential of novel treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. This particular study of the use of an injectable orthobiologic, platelet-rich-plasma, of a common knee ligament injury may lend insight into treatments to either prevent or minimize the later development of osteoarthritis of the knee.”
