New appointments included: Martin W. Roche, MD, Director of Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at HSS Florida, Reginald Odom, Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer at HSS, and Michael Enriquez, FACHE, President of HSS Florida.

Advancements in innovation included: the first knee-replacement procedure in the U.S. assisted by augmented reality performed by Jonathan M. Vigdorchik, MD, the opening of a provider-based 3D-printing center for complex joint replacement solutions with Lima, a collaboration with VR Electronics to develop full-body technology to improve orthopedic diagnostics and treatment, and the completion of the first knee replacement with a smart implant enabling remote monitoring and more.

Geographic expansion included the opening of HSS Midtown and HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health-Wilton and more.
