HSS has earned the “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader” designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC).

In its 17th edition, the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national LGBTQ+ benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities' policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees. The HEI 2026 evaluates nearly 2,300 healthcare facilities nationwide.

HSS is among the 323 healthcare facilities that achieved the top score of 100 and earned both "LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader" and “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer” designations.
