Good Day New York

Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, DSc, director of the non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at HSS, appeared on Good Day New York to discuss proper walking tips during COVID-19. Dr. Positano advises against making dramatic changes to your usual routine, as this can put stress on the musculoskeletal system. He suggests ramping up your walking time gradually. “Don’t go from 0 to 100 in 2 days,” said Dr. Positano.

Dr. Positano adds, "The implications of walking are so important these days because of the psychological benefit. So many people need to be able to get out right now, by practicing social distancing, to release some of their stress, nervousness and anxiety.”

This segment aired during the 9am news hour on April 15, 2020.
