Giants' Scott Rodeo receives Arthur C. Rettig Award for academic excellence

Giants Wire reported that Scott A. Rodeo, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS and head team physician for the New York Giants, received the Arthur C. Rettig Award for Academic Excellence by the NFL Physicians Society. According to the article, the award is given annually to an NFL team physician for academic excellence in research in advancing the health and safety of players in the NFL.

Dr. Rodeo, who won the award for his presentation on treatments for soft tissue healing, said "it is an honor to receive an award in Dr. Rettig's name, as he epitomizes the true 'team physician' who has made so many important contributions to orthopedic sports medicine over the years".

"I also thank my colleagues in the NFL Physicians Society, who as a group continue to set the standard for the highest level of professionalism in providing comprehensive care for athletes," he added.
