HSS has received a $7.5 million gift for its orthopedic surgery complex with NCH in North Naples.

The gift is from the New York-based Kapnick Foundation which supports institutions that improve communities; Scott Kapnick serves on the board of trustees for HSS, also headquartered in New York.

A leading academic medical center for musculoskeletal health, HSS announced plans in 2022 with NCH for a joint inpatient and outpatient surgical facility. The building is under construction at NCH North Hospital off Immokalee Road.

In November 2023, construction began on the 100,000-square-foot center that is targeted to open in March 2025.

The complex will offer comprehensive outpatient and inpatient musculoskeletal services, including imaging and rehabilitation.

Surgical services will include joint replacement and other treatments for hips, knees, shoulders, for sports injuries and for other musculoskeletal needs.
