Failing Your Way To Career Success

Forbes featured a bylined article by HSS chief innovation officer Leonard Achan, RN, MA, ANP, who focused on advice that he has given to students seeking a career in healthcare.

Achan pointed out that failing repeatedly could help people succeed. "This is how success comes about in the entrepreneurial world—through experimentation, failure and iterating from lessons learned. When smart, inquisitive people are allowed to experiment and make mistakes, they have the possibility of building something truly disruptive," he said.

"Never forget that we in the healthcare industry exist because of patients. Keep them at the center of what you do, always," he added.
