Ex-QB Josh McCown says Kirk Cousins being unvaccinated ‘takes away from some of your ability to lead’

St. Paul Pioneer Press discusses the recent torn meniscus injury of Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr.

St. Paul Pioneer Press spoke to Sabrina M. Strickland, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, who did not treat Smith but has performed more than a thousand meniscus surgeries and provided commentary on the recovery for this type of injury.

Dr. Strickland said if the tight end needs just a trim done of his meniscus, he likely would be out three to six weeks. Most surgeries are trims, but if a repair is needed, Smith could be out four to six months, she added.

“They’re not saying, but they should know more or less based on the MRI already,” Dr. Strickland noted.
