ESPN Radio: November 3, 2018

ESPN Radio interviewed HSS sports medicine surgeon Joshua S. Dines, MD, live on-air to discuss Tommy John surgery.

Dr. Dines explained that it typically takes a year for an athlete to recover from the surgery. He added that if they are throwing harder after recovering, "it's because the athlete did a great job post-operatively in their recovery process".

"Each step of the way has been trying to better recreate the anatomy while being less traumatic to the patient in terms of easing their recovery and improving outcomes," he noted while discussing the evolution of the surgery.
