Best worst choice: wearing high heels

Furthermore reports wearing high heels can make your calves tight and puts you at risk for further discomfort and injury. Experts including Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, DSc (Hon), director of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at HSS, explain what you can do to ease the tightness.

“The more you wear high heels, the worse the effects will be – but flats are not the fix,” said Dr. Positano. “The ideal shoe has a wide heel between one and two inches tall, which helps evenly distribute the force your feet absorb every day.”
