5 insights into HSS Sports Medicine Institute's new chief Dr. Andrew Pearle

Becker’s Spine Review reports Andrew D. Pearle, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, was named chief of the HSS Sports Medicine Institute, succeeding Bryan T. Kelly, MD, who was appointed to serve as surgeon-in-chief and medical director. Both Drs. Pearle and Kelly will assume their new roles as of July 1.

Dr. Pearle started at HSS as a surgical intern in 1998, and began practicing at the Hospital in 2005. He currently sees patients at the main HSS campus in New York City, and at HSS Westchester in White Plains, NY, where he holds the position of medical director. He developed one of the first computer-assisted surgery programs in the US and performed the first robotic partial knee replacement in New York in 2007.
