Is Race a Factor in Postop Orthopedic Care?
Orthopedics This Week reports on study findings published in JAMA Network Open on October 30, 2019, among researchers including Michael L. Parks, MD, hip and knee surgeon at HSS, which found African Americans were significantly more likely than white patients to be discharged to an inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility rather than home care after knee replacement surgery.
