Hardwood Heroics reported on how Timberwolves guard, Donte DiVincenzo, is leaning on NBA stars during his Achilles recovery who have gone through the same experience.

DiVincenzo underwent Achilles repair surgery less than 24 hours after his injury with Martin O’Malley, MD, foot and ankle surgeon at HSS, the same surgeon who repaired Tatum’s Achilles injury in 2025.

That connection matters. Tatum reportedly contacted DiVincenzo immediately after the injury as he fully understood the emotional rollercoaster attached to an Achilles rupture. Tatum’s own return in under 10 months has now become a source of motivation across NBA rehab circles.
