Can Stem Cells Unlock Peak Performance?

In an Outside Magazine article, reporter Graham Averill writes about the potential benefits of stem-cell therapy to treat orthopedic injuries for recreational athletes. Although there is a large amount of interest in this treatment option, Averill noted that there currently isn't enough FDA-approved clinical studies to support evidence on its effectiveness.

Scott A. Rodeo, MD, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, said "there's real potential in this medicine. We're just not there yet. The marketing is ahead of the science."
