Calgary Flames Star Jonathan Huberdeau Progresses Through Recovery Following Hip Resurfacing Surgery at HSS
Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau is continuing his recovery after undergoing hip resurfacing surgery in March 2026 with Edwin P. Su, MD, hip preservation surgeon at HSS. The procedure came after Huberdeau experienced increasing hip pain, and he has since begun an extensive rehabilitation program focused on returning to NHL competition.
In an update shared by the Calgary Flames, team rehabilitation sports physiotherapist Scott Cyr described Dr. Su as "one of the world's leading specialists" in hip resurfacing surgery.
Just one week after surgery, Huberdeau reported that his recovery was progressing well and that his body was responding positively to treatment.
