BetterPT raises $5M for physical-therapy booking app

Crain’s New York Business reports BetterPT, the app that enables people to schedule physical therapy appointments online, has raised $5 million dollars in a Series A round of financing, that includes backing from HSS.

The company, founded by Stephen Fealy, MD, orthopedic surgeon at HSS, and Greg Peters, will use the funds to boost its marketing efforts to attract more physical-therapy clients and expand outside the tristate area. BetterPT's partnership with HSS helped connect the startup with the more than 150 practices that are part of the HSS Rehabilitation Network. Those practices are a mix of HSS-run facilities and independent clinics that have been vetted by the Hospital. Since April 2018, patients have booked 30,000 appointments through the service.
