Aspirin After Joint Surgery?

Arthritis Today reported on a study that found that aspirin could prevent blood clots as effectively as the blood thinner rivaroxaban after a total joint replacement.

HSS hip and knee surgeon Geoffrey H. Westrich, MD, explained that "there are studies that show aspirin alone is very effective, and a more potent anticoagulant may not be needed for standard-risk patients."
