Adaptive surfing lesson offers a day of fun for pediatric patients on Long Island

CBS New York reported that the Penny Doerge Adaptive Academy (PDAA) at HSS hosted a surfing trip for pediatric patients with mobility challenges on Long Island. CBS New York's Vanessa Murdock showcased how an adaptive surfing lesson taught children they can do anything.

"It's really impressive. We have over 30 kids, many of them who have issues with walking or even sitting and now they are on surfboards," said Daniel W. Green, MD, MS, FAAP, FACS, chief of the Pediatric Orthopedic Service at HSS.
